The Justice Courts in Putnum County, also commonly known as city, town, and village courts, stand as the first level of litigation for most cases. No matter where you live, your local justice court will handle most low-dollar civil disputes ($15,000 or less), traffic violations, DWI cases, and misdemeanors. If you have a high-dollar civil dispute or you were charged with a felony, your case will most likely move up to the Putnum Supreme and County Court. Putnum Supreme and County Court
